Does Water help you lose Weight? Is that your question? Well the answer is yes. Water does help you lose weight. I was really surprised when my doctor told me ‘drink more water to lose weight’. I though she was joking. So I caught up with her over a meal that evening to catch up on what she said about water and weight loss. I was very keen to see what she would drink on an evening out like that. To my surprise, all she drank was just plain water. She actually drank a glass of water just before our meal was served.

Then I asked her what was the story about water and weight loss. She said water is a magic drink that gives you many health benefits. She said many of us are just so unappreciative of the many benefits water can give us. Many people take water for granted and treat it as a boring drink. But apparently, water is the best drink anyone can have. She says that is why she was drinking only water and nothing else that evening. In fact, she has replaced all her drinks including soda and alcohol with water. She says she has been feeling lot better ever since she ditched sugary drinks, soda and alcohol for water.

Then I asked her why she drank a glass of water just before the meal. She says drinking water before a meal makes her feel full and so she will not as hungry any more. As a result, she would eat much less than normal. As she eats less, she says she will lose some weight. I was like Oh my God. What a simple yet brilliant way to trick yourself into eating less. She started laughing at my amazement. She said there are actually many other benefits water can get you. She also said if you drink 6-8 glasses of water everyday, your health will improve significantly and you would lose weight.

After all, my vital parts like brain, kidneys, liver, heart etc. have been working very hard all night while I myself was asleep. So I want to look after my vital body parts by hydrating them first thing in the morning. Sometimes I make a warm drink of water with lemon and honey and drink a pint of it in the morning. I feel great about it. You can try drinking  a pint of warm water with lemon and honey too.
